We renewed our wedding vows on the 22nd June 2024 and had the most amazing day with our family & friends

The Potting Shed

We chose to renew our wedding vows at The Potting Shed in Beverley. Mary did an amazing job setting up the room ready for all our family, friends and guests.

We had a fabulous, very, very special day that will live with us forever.

Owen's Vows

You are my wife, and my love.

Since meeting and marrying we have been on an amazing journey.

We’ve travelled just up the road, and many many miles from our home.

We’ve watched our children grow and flourish

We’ve watched our grandchildren do the same and new ones come along.

We’ve done things we thought we would never do, and things we always planned to do.

We’ve saved money, and you’ve spent money.

We’ve laughed and we’ve cried.

We’ve gained and we’ve lost.

And all this, we’ve done together, you and me.

I’ve supported you, and you have supported me.

As for the vows we made when we wed, those all remain the same.

But right now, today, with you, I feel them as strong and as true as ever.

And I’m sure we’ll continue to walk this path of life, side by side.

With the words we said to each other helping to steady our strides.

I love you, and I’ll continue to love you.

In all the days, months and years we have to come.

Mary's Vows

Owen you are the love of my life and the missing piece I been looking for all my life.

I promise to love you in good times and bad I will laugh with you and cry with you, and I will cherish you always.

I promise our life’s will be filled with laughter winging and prosecco.

Owen, you have changed my life in so many ways you shown me what true love really is and I couldn’t do life without you well until you start snore.

Thankyou for the life you give me and let me be myself which at times is quite entertaining for loving our girls and been the best granddad and greatest friend to all our friends who I call my family

I look forward to spending a lifetime with you going on our little adventures and most of all growing old with you.

I vow to comfort you inspire you each day for the rest of our life’s.

I may have missed out been your first, but I want to be your last everything.

I love you and I will love you until the day I die and if there is a life after that I will keep loving you then too.

The Wedding Cake

Our amazingly multi-talented friend Vicki who has her own baking business made our wedding cake for us. Delicious Sponge cake for the top tier, then an extraordinary nice Bakewell cake bottom tier with lots of Amaretto. All covered in buttercream icing, and stunning hand made decorations.

Vicki

Such a big help for Mary and myself! Vicki made our cake, was Mary’s Bridesmade, and did all the hair and makeup too! Thank you Vicki, you helped make everything run smoothly from very early in the morning onwards. You kept Mary from getting too stressed and overwhelmed with the planning and the excitment of the day.

Louise

Many months before the vows renewal, we asked Louise if she would like to preside over them for us. This was a role Louise took on with great enthusiasm and we think she did a fantastic job for us. Louise kept secret from all our friends that we’d aked her to do this for us, which must not have been easy, and was an excellent surprise for all who attended. She made the whole renewal relaxed and fun for us and all who where there.

Pippa

Pippa joined us for the day to record the event for us. Not her usual type of photography, as she’s more used to taking pictures of babies, children and pets. We have thanks to her, a stunning set of images to treasure for the rest of our lives. Thank you Pippa
